In the Northern Part of South Africa (north of the Soutpansberg) a Share block Scheme was developed with 50 shareholders (or co-owners / investors). The investors had various reasons for investing: 10% capital investment, 20% permanent residents and 70% holiday accommodation. The scheme is developed on a 206 hectare farm with 44 completed houses. The scheme is self managed by directors selected on an annual basis by the co-owners. The area is very conservative and in my view "verkramp".
