Electricity account
The Chairman (Mr. Frik Birkenstock),
Dear Mr. Birkenstock,
On Monday, 8 November 2010, my wife (Mrs Anita Bessinger) went to the treasurer to:
1) Inquire to the amount we still have outstanding on the electricity account (as we have not yet received our account/ statement)
2) Inquire as to why we no longer receive our account/ statement via e-mail
3) Why the changes were made without even notifying us (and creating embarrassment and us (my wife and I but especially my wife).
The treasurer informed my wife that:
1) He feels offended by my e-mail re the phishing because why would it only happen to my account (implying that either I was lying or that I was trying to embarrass him on purpose. I assure you that it far from the truth. But never mind.
2) He would never communicate to me via e-mail again.
3) He was not as much offended by the e-mail as being offended by me ‘shouting’ at him on my stoep when he insulted me. His claim was that his Christian duty prevailed and he wanted to only do good by giving me an unwanted gift. I had previous told him (in no uncertain terms) that I am not interested in joining them in ‘their’ comings and goings. But, apparently, his Christian duties empower him to ignore my wishes and he had to invade my space and insult me. This shouting from me is apparently the main reason why he would not communicate with me. Including hand delivery of any notices and statements.
4) Sending the statement by post was the easiest option for him (although the most inconvenient for my wife).
5) He feels not only offended and hurt by my actions but refuses all forms of direct communication with me (private or official) and therefore don’t care about hurting and insulting my spouse, as long as his aims are met. i.e. making her life as difficult as possible so as to effect me).
The treasurer and my wife then made the following agreement:
1) To revert back to the hand delivery system that was agreed to by the previous treasurer (because it worked well)
2) Not to expect any e-mail again from the treachery (so therefore I will put a block on any e-mail received from the treasurer)
3) The treasury will stop sending the statement by post and will personally (direct or indirect) have them delivered to our abode.
4) By trying to insult and offend me my wife also get insulted and offended. Thus no one sided attack can be made because my wife and I are spouses and the one’s hurt is the other’s hurt.
5) That should these agreements not work, we will read our meter and my wife will deposit an estimated amount in the share block scheme and the treasurer can sort out the accounts (without her help and without charging a meter reading fee).
The purpose of this letter is:
1) To notify the chairman that possible solutions are in place to again get my account/ statement.
2) My wife and I are still very offended that no communication regarding this was received until a letter from the secretary. And then my wife had to go and try set wheels in motion to try and solutions.
3) To notify the chairman should the delivery system not work another solution could be that the treasure just sends a SMS to my wife and she will collect the statement. But she needs to verify the amount before payment (as the law requires).

Indigenous trees on So-Ja
The Chairman (Mr. Frik Birkenstock)
Dear Sir,
It has to my attention that indigenous trees on So-Ja may have been cut down. Find attached an article related to when it becomes an offence to cut down trees (cutting down trees.jpg). At the bottom is also an article regarding a fine that was brought against a contractor for cutting down trees.
The incident was brought to my attention on one of walks on the farm. Find attached two photos IMGA0840 and 841) that clearly indicate where the tree was cut down and only the stump was left. This was down after one of the directors had a braai (I mentioned this on one of my questions I raised regarding the mass use of the tractor as passenger transporter) on this site. Pictures IMFA 842 and 843 show the branches that was cut off and discarded.
m
The porpoise of this letter is:
1) To bring this incident to attention of the chairman
2) To provide prove of my statement.
3) To notify the chairman that this is not the first time I have brought this to the attention of the management of the share block scheme. Last time it got removed by either Mr. Dawid Bosch or his brother (Mr. Tielman Bosch) when I put it on notice board. The incident why this notice put up on the notice board was:
a. Mr Faan van Wyk en Mr. Dawid Bosch (both directors of the share block scheme at the time) was taking wood out for a Christmas braai.
b. Their explanation was that they removed the wood from the river and therefore need no permission (contradictory to the attached article)
c. The braai is for all and therefore all is guilty of the crime (contradictory to the attached article because the owner or the curators are held responsible).
4) To provide the chairman (and demand his response and action) to ensure that this doesn’t happen again.
5) To remind the chairman that even taking out wood from the veld for a braai conforms to the attached article.
6) To notify the chairman that this action is a punishable offence.

A fine of R4 000 was issued this week to a consultant for a local engineering company, after he cut down indigenous trees without a permit in front of the Oriental Plaza in Eltivillas.
Article By: Frans van der Merwe
Date: 10 November 2006
A fine of R4 000 for the destruction of four indigenous trees without a permit has been issued against a consultant of a contractor involved in a municipal deforestation spree and road-building project in Makhado (Louis Trichardt)
The fine was issued by Environmental Affairs officer Mr Allan McMurtrie to a person on the scene in Eltivillas, identified as a consultant for the contractor Paballo Consulting Engineers. The fine must be paid by December 8 this year, or the matter will be taken to court on January 5, 2007.
This law enforcement action resulted from the cutting down of a lane of giant trees on the N1 border of the
The giant trees which were cut down consisted predominantly of African and also indigenous South African species. Prominent fever trees, a huge paper bark tree and a large wild seringa were among the indigenous South African trees unceremoniously destroyed alongside numerous giant North African Mahogany trees. The destruction of the indigenous South African trees without a permit from Environmental Affairs, resulted in the fine.
Mr McMurtrie said on enquiry all people and institutions should take note that they cannot just cut down indigenous trees. If there is a really good reason for the removal of such a tree from wherever in the urban or rural areas, a permit must be obtained from Environmental Affairs.
"Anybody who does not comply with this law will be fined," McMurtrie said.
Businesses in the Gateway centre, close to where the trees are being cut down, complained that they were without water for well on two days, without any warning, apology or explanation from the municipality. The water stoppage presumably resulted from the wild demolition action which also left the tarred road in front of these businesses ripped up without any pre-warning to the businesses. On Wednesday there were still no efforts to warn motorists about the demolished tarred road in the busy entrance to the
Questions about the authorization and execution of this deforestation project remain unanswered. No media release was forthcoming from the municipality. Efforts to obtain information about the reason and authorization of the project, the way in which the tender was advertised and allocated and the amount of taxpayers’ money being spent on the destruction of a valuable asset were fruitless. Ironically, trees were cut down while tenders are being awaited for the landscaping and planting of trees immediately to the north of the demolished lane in front t of the new Makhado Crossing shopping centre.

Electricity account
The Chairman (Mr. Frik Birkenstock),
Dear Sir,
I have sent through a notification for my e-mail address change. In a follow up letter I praised the chairman for promptly acting on this notification. I am now not sure if my praise was prematurely sent because it is now the 28th October 2010 and I have not yet received my normal electricity account via my new e-mail address.
There might be a number of reasons for this oversight but I concluded that one of the following may have happened:
1) The Treasurer may not have been notified of my new address.
2) The Treasurer may have been notified but have updated the information.
3) The Treasurer may have been notified but incorrectly updated the information.
4) The Management have made other rulings and rudely have omitted to notify and get my agreement.
5) And, then my wife reminded me that the chairman may have taken offence to me trying to solve my SPAM problem.
The original agreement I had with the management in general and with the treasurer specific was that my account will be hand delivered to my abode. But then out of the blue it was sent via e-mail. And some months up to 5 different value and/ or information accounts. I did not complain about it because I preferred e-mail as it is a more secure system the hand delivery.
May I remand the chairman that SPAM and backdoors are now part of our life and all internet users must endeavour to eradicate the offenders? Just this month MWEB (the biggest internet supplier in

The worrying factor is Phishing sites.
The purpose of this letter is:
1) To bring this problem to attention of the chairman.
2) To ask the chairman to investigate why I may not receive my electricity account.
3) If the chairman agreed with alternate arrangements to notify me as to what the arrangement are.
4) If arrangements have already been instituted, apologise for not notifying me and assuming that I am just in agreement what management enforces on us (my wife and I).
5) If the treasurer feels offended that only he can have backdoors please convey to him that it happens to the best of us (even to service providers and if you look at the attachment you will see that my software has blocked six phishing sites on my machine this month alone). But since changing my specific e-mail address I do not receive any more SPAM. And that is all I tried to achieve and, was very successful in that.
Sincerely,
Waterpoort, 0905

Water wastage
The Chairman (Mr. Frik Birkenstock),
Dear Mr. Birkenstock,
Find attached two photos taken on 13 October 2010 at 05:49. Again it is about water standing open during the night and the shareholder responsible not on the farm. I did not close the water of fear of being persecuted as I have only last month complained about the same shareholder’s water standing open (and nearly at the same location).
The purpose of this letter is:
1) To let the chairman know about the incident.
2) To ask the chairman to please now address this problem or allow all shareholders to leave water open during the night. Let us not discriminate more against the permanent occupiers.
Sincerely,
PS Since change of my e-mail address all SPAM have now stopped. Thank you for letting concerned know and updating my address with the offices of the share block scheme.

Cacti destruction on farm Koedoesveld (666MS)
The Chairman (Mr. Birkenstock),
Dear Sir,
It has come to my attention that Cacti are being destroyed on the farm owned my The So-Ja Aandeleblok (Eiendoms) Beperk.
Please find attached a number of photos (taken on 14 Oct 2010 at +/- 06:15) indicating this destruction that appears to have happened on 13 or 12 Oct 2010 but, view also photo IMGA0747.JPG that is still one of the cacti still alive.
The purpose of this letter is:
1) To bring this attention of the chairman.
2) Should the chairman be aware of this to ask him for the explanation as to why?
3) Should the chairman not be aware of this destruction to have it investigated and if necessary have the perpetrated prosecuted.
Sincerely,

Water wastage.
The Chairman (Mr. Birkenstock),
Dear Sir,
Firstly, it has come to my attention that the management of the share block scheme has implemented a ‘day management’ system. It is not clear what the duties of this team may be but apparently the team consist of “Mr. F. Birkenstock, Mrs. E. Launspach, and Mr. H. Veldman”. If I, in my unawareness and unacquainted knowledge, have not send my previous e-mails to all concerned, please accept my apologies. I will endeavour to, fanatically, do so in future. Unless I am now jumping the gun and this was never the intention?
Secondly, please find attached a photo of water standing open overnight and again the shareholder not present on site. This water has been running since Sunday sometime and these photos were taken on Monday morning on the 4th October 2010 at 05:49. I do not know who opened the water and when. But it was not open on Sunday morning. Neither did I close it of fear of being persecuted because this is one of the shareholders that has threatened me before.
The reason for this letter is:
1) To bring this to the chairman’s attention.
2) To ask the chairman to have this problem addressed because this is not the first complained of this nature or even this shareholder. And again the share holder is not even on the farm.
Sincerely
